    For our individual college (we are part of a college system), if requested, we provide students with laptops with access to an online desktop/applications for their classes, etc. We have had this practice for several years (since Covid) and recently switched to Chromebooks due to cost and without compromising student's access.

    At Mountwest Community and Technical College here in WV, students can request a laptop rental by way of application (Laptop Program - MCTC).  There are terms and conditions associated with the rental which are provided to the student for signature I believe at time of pick-up.

    Hello Herb-

    Estrella Mountain Community College lends out laptops to students per semester. They fill out a loan agreement which states they will return at the end of the semester and if they don't a $50 Technology Replacement Fee is posted to their account. If they return it or renew the agreement for the following semester after fee is posted then it is reversed on the account.

    At Morningside University we provide a laptop program that students can opt into.  They can choose between a Dell or Apple and 2yr or 4yr program where we assess a technology fee, to those that opt in, that covers our lease expense of the unit.
