  • 1.  Adavico for Endowment Accounting

    Posted 03-05-2026 07:10 AM

    Good morning!

We're evaluating Adavico for endowment accounting and would love to hear from institutions currently using it. Rather than general impressions, we're most interested in the specifics:

    • How has it handled edge cases - underwater funds, complex spending policy calculations, or multi-asset pool allocations?
    • What did implementation actually look like, and how long before your team was truly self-sufficient?
    • What does your ongoing support experience look like - response times, issue resolution, escalation paths?
    • Are there workflows or reports you've had to build workarounds for?
    • Any integrations with your GL or investment custodian that have been smooth - or painful?

We're especially interested in hearing from institutions that have been on the platform for 2+ years, since that's when the honeymoon period tends to be over. Direct messages welcome if you'd prefer to share candid feedback privately. Thank you!

    Hi James,

I have used Adavico at multiple institutions over a period of 15+ years. Adavico handles all of the situations you have outlined above as well as possible, and they have a very personal, hands-on approach to each client. The implementation timeframe is going to depend on how organized your files are and how much historical data you want to incorporate. I believe it varies from 3 to six months, but it could likely be shorter or longer based on the condition of your dataset. I actually wonder how they make money, given the amount of attention they give to each client. I suspect they don't make money until the maintenance phase of the project, but even then they are extremely responsive to their client's needs.

    Good morning, James,

We are in the process of going live with Adavico for Endowment Accounting and so far, they have been excellent. They take on the heavy lift; however, you will need to reconcile the records to move forward. This process is really helping with the cleanup between Slate Advancement and Adavico and I'm confident it won't take much longer. Our data was in disarray but is taking shape now. As Chris points out, they are very responsive.

Thank you all for the insight.  As Jason Edwards has said, "never waste an implementation."
